In the last chapter I shared this scripture from John
7:37-39, where Jesus stood up in the midst of The Feast of Tabernacles
celebration and declared these words,
"If any man thirst, let him
come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture has
said, out of his belly
shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they
that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not
yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)"
Paul said in Rom.
8:14,
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God."
The question that I have for all Christians
is, "Are you living your life being led by the Spirit of God?" I would dare say
that a lot of Christians have no idea when the Lord is leading them. John said
in John 1:12,
"But as many as
received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his
name:"
To be a mature son of God is a far different
matter than being a child of God. Becoming a child of God is a very simple
matter, however, to become a mature son of God requires living a life of
walking by faith. Faith in the promises of the Lord and living your life
declaring what the Lord has to say about you and the things you are confronted
with. No matter what the situation is, you declare what the word of God has to
say about it.
Upon the baptism of John, Jesus was led into
the wilderness to be tempted by satan face to face. Satan knew, at least, that
Jesus was born of a virgin and could be the Messiah that was prophesied to come
and he had no doubt heard John the Baptist's preaching of the coming of the
Messiah. I say this because Herod did this in Matt. 2:16,
"Then Herod, when he saw that
he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and
put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its
districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had
determined from the wise men."
If the devil had known what was going on he
would not have influenced Herod to kill all the Jewish babies born in the last
two years. Paul said in 1 Cor. 2:8, (NIV)
"None of the rulers of
this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord
of glory."
Jesus was led into the wilderness to defeat
the devil. 1 John 3:8,
"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might
destroy the works of the devil."
Jesus
defeated the devil by His faith in the written Word of God. At each temptation
of the devil Jesus told him, "It is written!"
If
we ever learn to declare the Word of the Lord to the circumstances we are face
with, instead of declaring what the media has to say about things, we will see
our circumstances change according to the word we declare. Paul said in Gal.
3:11,
"The just shall live
by faith."
Our
faith is a gift of God. Paul said in Eph. 2:8,
"For by grace are you saved through faith; and
that not of yourselves: it
is the gift of God:"
Paul
said in Rom. 12:3,
"For I say, through the grace given unto me,
to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than
he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith."
However
this gift is something that must be activated and developed. Our faith should
be greater everyday of our life as we learn to be led by the Spirit of God. To
be led by the Spirit of God you must believe that He dwells within you and
leads you wherever you go. By faith we thank God for everything that happens.
If it is negative we declare what the word of God has to say about it. It comes
our way to give us a chance to declare by the faith we have in the word of God.
It gives us a chance to declare what the word of the Lord has to say about it
and not be defeated but become overcomers. Rev. 12:11 says talking about the
saints,
"They overcame him ( satan) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives
unto the death."
Jesus
said that rivers of living waters would flow from our bellies. The anointing of
the Holy Spirit is something that can be physically felt. You have probably
experience this without knowing what it was. Have you ever been sharing the
Gospel with someone and a warm feeling raises up from your belly. Your senses
can feel the moving of the Spirit and you can learn to discern His prescience.
I
have many Christian friends who tell me that they would like the baptism of the
Holy Spirit but they don"t want to speak in tongues! You don't have to speak in
tongues to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Speaking in tongues is one of the
evidences of having been baptized in the Holy Spirit. Speaking in tongues
edifies you and builds your spirit up."Paul said in 1Cor. 14:2,
"He who speaks in a tongue does not
speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the
spirit he speaks mysteries."
And in 1 Cor. 24:4,
"He who speaks in
a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church."
Your
spirit is speaking directly with the Lord. Why would you not want to do this?
The Spirit will lead you if you just believe that He will. I could tell you
many stories of His leadership in my life.
Have
you ever been about to buy an expensive home, car, etc., and you have a
negative feeling in your stomach? And
you went ahead and bought it only to later regret it later? We often refer to
this as a gut feeling. Our soul is made up of our mind, will and emotions. When
the Spirit's anointing or His inspiration comes upon us our emotions will
respond. Many times when I am preaching I will recognize that He is speaking
through me.
Paul
also said in 1 Cor. 6:17,
"He that is joined unto the Lord is one
spirit."
Let
me ask you another question. Do you know that you are spirit? Your spirit will
never die. This flesh and blood body we live in will die and return to dust. We
are spirit, we have a soul, which is our mind, will, and emotions, and we live
in a body of flesh. When we accept the Lord our spirit is joined with His
Spirit and we become one in the Spirit. In other words, we are like spirits
because we are born by Him. Jesus said in Matt. 23:9,
"Call no your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is
in heaven!"
You
do have faith enough to believe what Paul had to say about the Spirit in Rom.
8:16, if you will believe it and act upon it. He said,
"The Spirit Himself bears witness with
our spirit that we are children of God"
If we have been born again we will have that
witness within us, however, if we sit in churches where we are constantly told
that we are sinners and we need to repent, that witness will grow faint and we
will have doubts about our salvation.
If you have never been taught about being led
by the Spirit, you can start by faith today and believe what Paul is telling
you. To receive from God you must anticipate it happening. Jesus said in Mark
11:24,
"Therefore I say
to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you
receive them, and you will have them."
The
reason that I have shared with you about being led by the Spirit is because we
are in World War 3 and it is a spiritual war and to be successful you will have
to learn to be led by the Spirit of the Lord and declare what the word has to
say about these circumstances.
When Donald Trump stood on the steps of the
escalator in Trump Towers and announced that he was running for the office of
the President of The United States it stirred up the Kingdom of Darkness and
all hell broke lose in the spiritual world and in the natural world and the
uproar is still occurring even today as we approach the time to elect who our
next president will be. It started World War Three and this time it is a
spiritual war. The evil spiritual forces of darkness realized their rule was
about to be ended if Trump was allowed to clean out the swamp, not only in
Washington DC but in nations that have been taking advantaged of our
generosity.
The darkness that rules many in the
Democratic Party today begin to manifest itself along with most of the media.
No longer can they hide in the guise of being the protector of the people.
Our prayers to God about our country and what
is going on is very important, however, we must open our mouths and declare
what the word of God says. When we do this we are in agreement with His
declarations and when we declare them we become His voice in this world. We are
a sounding trumpet, not only to the spirit world, but to the people of this
world including our Christian brothers.
I will prophesy to
you and declare that there will be a remnant of Christians that will step up
and do this and will defeat the devil and his attempts to destroy God's people.
The results will be that the fulfillment of the scripture quoted by Peter from Joel in
Acts 2:17-21 will be poured out in unlimited measures.
"And it shall
come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your
sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my
handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall
prophesy: And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the
earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: The sun shall be turned
into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.":
Jesus said in John 14:12-14,
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do
also; and greater works than these shall he
do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that
the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask anything in my name,(name means authority) I will do it."
The Kingdom of God through out the world, and
especially here in the US, has majored in teaching the fundamentals of salvation and neglected teaching Christians how
to become mature sons and daughters of the Lord. As a result the Church that
Jesus died for is weak and unskilled in doing spiritual warfare. Since the
Charismatic move in the late 1960's and 70's this is changing but there are
still too many Christians who are babes in Christ when they should be mature
sons of God by now.
Paul said in Heb. 6:1-2,
"Therefore,
leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go
on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works
and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of
hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."
There is a remnant of Churches today that are
moving out with the Spirit's leadership and are reaching the high praises of
worship that most Churches never reach. The presence of the Lord is manifest in
their assemblies as they worship the Lord. In their worship services, the Lord
often speaks through individuals with prophecy and the gifts of the Holy Spirit
are often manifested. People often get healed as they praise the Lord.
I personally don't believe we have seen
anything yet in our worship services that will soon be manifested as the Lord
pours out His Holy Spirit on all flesh as predicted by Joel and repeated by
Peter in Acts 2:17-21.
